Why I became a
Rescue Angel: |
My daughter was diagnosed with autism when she was 2 1/2. She is turning 11 next month. I have had several years of learning about autism and what works for my daughter. I have seen her improve so much that I would like to share some of the things I have learned. For me, I realized early on that my local doctors and schools were not going to be of much good to my daughter. After a lot of exploring and frustration, I took on the responsibility myself to help my child. I started contacting other moms with children with autism and that is how I learned about the Son-Rise program and the GFCF diet. I started the Son-Rise/floor time therapy. I started the gfcf diet and then modified a different diet to fit her needs. Then as my daughter improved I started homeschooling her and then I started looking for opportunities for inclusion. Now she is involved in a Christian homeschooling program where she does activities in school everyday. She is considered high functioning today. Helping her overcome autism is something I do everyday in someway or another. I am devoted to my daughter-I am her mom, teacher, aide, and advocate. |

Diagnosis-PDD/Autism. Younger-behavior problems, attention,language delay, stomach/digestive issues, sensory problems, etc...Now, Doing very well. No behavior problem, good attention, improved language, good social skills. |

GF/CF Diet-very strict diet no wheat, dairy, soy, low sugar. Speech and OT helpful. Inclusion as much as possible. Son-Rise/Floor Time.

Why I became a
Rescue Angel: |
I started this journey 3 years ago by myself in a state where the local autism association is extremely anti-biomedical. I was surrounded by such negativity about biomedical treatment and had I been a weaker person, would've given up. During that time I would have loved having another parent to learn from. My son has made amazing progress and I attribute most of it to biomedical. I am now in a position where I can help other parents who are just starting their journey. I want to give hope and tools for recovery to parents who are newly facing this diagnosis |
