Autism (was officially diagnosed with having Autism- 3/27/08)-all symptoms, including: poor communication, poor eye contact (although, now improving since removal of Casein), still has some Diarrhea-leaky gut issues, fungas/yeast issues, some stimming, B-Cell dysfunction- broken B Cells (started IVIG therapy Aug. 2007-will be on it for the rest of his life), HED (does not sweat, so has to have ice packs/cool vest when above 70 degrees), has a Central Line for nightly feeds of TPN (40%) since Feb. 2007. |

Because my son and I went through so much, and I spent so many exhausting hours researching and feeling lost, which was unnecessary because there is an answer that you don't get from the pediatrician. Families should not have to go through what I went through. My son has improved tremendously, now people are in awe when I tell them he has autism. I used to carry him around like an object that I couldn't interact with, and I was exhausted. Now I can talk to him, and hang out with him like friends, which would not have been possible a year ago. Now he enjoys reading, plays the piano and does other activities that would have been impossible before. I would hate to think there are children that are trapped inside autism. We have to help them and fight for them because they all deserve it. |

To help others like me - My son is 15 years old and only got a diagnosis of ASD two years ago. I've been fighting since the day he was born to find out what the problem was - I already knew the symptoms as I lived with them everyday. My Doctors told me "andrew will never walk, talk, or take care of himself" and it was just that kind of talk that made me determined to "cure" my Son. I will not stop. |
